Being a community-owned natural gas supplier, ACE places a high priority on supporting local communities.
Along with supplying competitively priced natural gas and advocating for Nebraska customers in the Nebraska Choice Gas program, ACE also assists its member communities through its community cleanup program. The program provides equipment such as safety vests, and trash bags for local groups to spruce up communities.
In exchange, ACE provides a financial donation to a local community group for its volunteer efforts.
“Supporting local communities is why ACE was formed,” said Mandy Heermann, retail gas services coordinator for ACE. “The cleanup program is just another way ACE helps its member communities and local groups.”
In 2021, ACE supported 19 community cleanup events, which typically are held during the spring and summer. Since the program began in 2019, there have been 49 cleanup events overall in 31 ACE member communities.
“We provide the supplies, but the volunteers provide the hard work,” said Heermann. “We’re thrilled we can help keep Nebraska communities looking their best.”
